The Flower of Life mimics the cellular structure one sees in embryonic cell division (e.g., the fertilized ovum divides into two cells, then four, then eight). But this symbol was known and given this meaning long before the creation of microscopes. As the pattern continues, cells grow in number to become tissues, tissues become organ systems, and eventually multiple such systems working together creates a person, or any other living creature. |

People who come to therapy are seeking renewal. Sometimes they wish to renew their vision of themselves or others. Other times they wish a renewal of important relationships. Those suffering from debilitating symptoms must first experience a renewal of hope. It is a symbol both grounded in the physical and the mysterious. Physically, it can be mathematically represented (i.e., geometry) and witnessed repeatedly in the life sciences where new life is emerging. For others it represents a divine presence or a higher power. Some see it as a representation of evolution or a life force that drives the creation of life, and thus change. It means different things to different people who come for therapy. But it always represents both something constant (the self, mathematics) and something nebulous and mysterious (life, creation, religious symbolism). One brings the self and embraces the power they have to create a new and better reality for themselves and others. Therapy is both a science and an art. This symbol is representative and meaningful in a way no other available logo seemed able to match. So that is why we use this symbol next to the name of the practice. Because it symbolizes the inherent (or to some divine) ability of each and every client to Renew. |
