Nicole Laurent, LMHC, MA

Nicole Laurent

M.A. in Clinical Psychology

Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC)

I am passionate about alleviating the profound suffering that comes from being in unhealthy relationships.

I have been assisting individuals and families since 2003, with the goal of improving the quality of life for all involved. I specialize in cognitive, behavioral and dialectical methods that are time-limited and solution focused.

I completed my Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and my Master of Arts in Clinical Psychology from Argosy University (formally Washington School of Professional Psychology). Graduating in 2007, I completed my training with a competent grasp of the scientific principles underlying the practice of psychology. Having achieved additional training in qualitative and quantitative research methodologies I became an educated consumer of the scientific literature as it applies to therapies for various clinical presentations. This same training allows me to understand how diversity affects clinical assessment and informs competent practice.

I work with a variety of age groups and enjoy tremendous success assisting clients in the resolution of a variety of struggles. My style is to emphasize competence and the development of resources throughout the treatment process.

I am best known in the community for helping those who are dealing with struggles around their ability to regulate emotion. While individual work is a significant part of my practice, I may also be provding parent training to assist with behavioral concerns or treating a couple on painful issues around loss of desire or extra-marital affairs.

I use a variety of evidence-based treatments to help individuals, families and couples create and maintain healthy interactions that lead to treasured personal relationships. I work well with both individuals and families of diverse backgrounds and capabilities on issues relating to emotional, social and behavioral development and functioning.

Prior to relocating my practice to Vancouver, Washington I was in private practice in Issaquah, Washington, a suburb 20 minutes eastof Seattle.

Nicole's intelligence, insightfulness, and vast knowledge make her a superb therapist.
