You may pay by cash, check or money order through the mail or in person. I accept Visa, Mastercard or Discover. Many patients use their Health Savings Account (HSA) or Flexible Spending Accounts (FSA) to pay for their portion or their entire therapy. Payment plans are available with the signing of a formal payment plan agreement and are accepted on a per case basis. Ask me about this option.

Then you will be considered a private pay client and your balance will be due at the time of session unless you have made special arrangements. Not using insurance makes the use of tele-counseling possible if you are out of the area.
Why should I consider going out-of-network or private pay?
Sometimes it can be difficult to find someone in your insurance network you are confident and comfortable working with. Especially if you are searching for a therapist that practices a particular type of psychotherapy (i.e., DBT, CBT, EMDR, Behavior Therapy). Your insurance company only provides the names. It is then your job to call and see if they are taking new patients, ask if they use the modality you would like to try, what populations they work with and what are their specialties, etc.
